Maulidur Rasul Muhammad s.a.w.

Assalamualaikum,

Tafsir perkataan:

  • Maulud ertinya 'bayi yang dilahirkan'
  • Maulid ertinya 'kelahiran'

Jadi, sebutan yang sebenar adalah Maulid Nabi / Maulidur Rasul bukannya Maulud Nabi. Orang Melayu seharusnya membetulkan sebutan ini.

Tiga perkara sebagai tanda kita sayang kepada Rasulullah s.a.w.:

  1. Banyakkan selawat nabi dan keluarganya.
  2. Ikut cara Nabi / Sunnahnya

  3. Pemberian hadiah tanda ingatan
  4. Masa yang berkualiti bersama keluarga
  5. banyak memberi khidmat kepada pasangan dan keluarga

Jadilah seperti lebah, contohi kerana:

  • Lebah makan benda yang baik-baik sahaja.
  • Lebah hidup secara berjemaah.
  • Lebah menjaga persekitarannya, pokok tempat lebah bersarang tetap hidup subur.

Wassallam.

First world facilities vs. Third world salary

Our government always mention that we are going to develop our nation into modern world i.e. first world. Here and there, there are many new facilities emerged onto the surface, brand new and majestic. However, if we want to use the facilities, we need to pay for it.
Especially in KL, we need to pay tolls everyday, in our way to the offices if we are travelling by car, despite all the traffic jam. When we are going back home in the evening, we have to pay tolls on the way back, also complete with traffic jam. Try to avoid paying tolls, extra massive traffic jam.
Drinks and meals are quite expensive in KL, especially to the low income citizen. Those who cannot afford the fees may have to 'ikat perut', skip lunch and hope for a good dinner at home. Despite that, KL is full of hope and people who come to the city centre with the intention to change their life in materials. People are forced to work extra hours in order to fullfil the needs of theur family.
In this metropolitan city, people who have money can make more money. People with money can use other people to make money for them. In the end the gap between rich and poor will become bigger and larger. These can be seen at large cities e.g. Jakarta, Delhi, Manila, Bangkok even Abu Dhabi (I haven't seen all these with my own eyes, but many talks about this...)
What are the first world facilities if the majority of the people can only 'see' them from far. If the people want to enjoy them, they need to pay. From education to health, people are forced to pay for the service. The price for the fuel goes up and up and away! (Despite the petroleum produced off-shore of peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.)
In the old days, graduate students can enjoy their first salary without so much worry. Now, even the graduates are still below the urban poverty line, can be considered as 'miskin bandar'. What are our achievement after more than 5 decades of independencies?
Are we becoming poorer and poorer...?
